Business Analyst IAM
Overview
As a Business Analyst for Identity and Access Management (IAM), you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions in the IAM space. Working closely with stakeholders from various departments, you will analyze business processes, identify requirements and design IAM solutions to improve security, streamline operations and support business objectives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of IAM strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
Your responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Work with customer representatives to understand their IAM requirements, including access requirements, user roles and regulatory compliance.
- Process analysis: Evaluation of existing IAM processes and workflows to identify areas that can be improved, optimized and automated.
- Solution design: Translating business requirements into IAM solutions, including access controls, authentication mechanisms and identity lifecycle management.
- Stakeholder management: working with cross-functional teams to communicate IAM strategies, gather feedback and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Risk assessment: Evaluate IAM risks and vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate security threats and compliance risks.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of IAM requirements, design and implementation plans to facilitate communication and knowledge transfer.
- Test and validate: Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation activities to ensure IAM solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Training and support: Training and support for end users and administrators on IAM processes, tools and best practices.
Your profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information security or a related field.
- Proven experience as a business analyst, preferably in the area of IAM.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management principles, technologies and best practices.
- Mastery of techniques for requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in conducting and leading presentations and workshops.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
- Certifications in relevant areas (e.g. CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001, ITIL) are a plus.
- Knowledge of legal requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA or SOX is an advantage.
- Conceptual understanding of leading Identity & Access Management tools (e.g. SailPoint, Azure/Entra, Okta, Ping Identity/ForgeRock, OpenText/NetIQ or One Identity) desirable.
- Experience with IAM concepts in the context of cloud integrations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Initiative, motivation, constant learning on the job and creativity.
- Fluent in German and English.
